14. REVIEW THE RULES OF THE LAWN CEMETERY

Enc

The revised rules for the Lawn Cemetery are attached along with Cllr Eve’s suggestions. Most of Cllr Eve’s suggestions were minor grammatical changes and have therefore been altered accordingly, however Cllr Eve’s suggestion to completely remove the section on ‘control of the cemetery’ remains. Control has to lie with the Clerk as Proper Officer of the Council for legal reasons. Members are requested to review the changes made and decide whether or not to accept them as they stand.

15. LETTER OF COMPLAINT REGARDING PROLIFARATION OF NON-PERMISSABLE POTS, PLANTERS ETC IN THE CEMETERY

A letter of complaint has been received from a member of the public about the number and type of non-permissible pots, planters etc that proliferate the Lawn Cemetery and asks that they be removed and the Cemetery Rules be enforced. The Cemetery Rules state that the Council permits only two flower containers per grave and that the containers should be lightweight with prongs at the bottom for easy removal. These vases can be obtained from the Parish Office.
