07/04 PUBLIC FORUM

The Chairman suggested that the allotments were taken in turn starting with Dog Kennel Lane, then Copman’s Wick and finally The Swillett.

(i) DOG KENNEL LAND

The main concern was the lack of security of the allotment. The Clerk stated there was nothing that could be done about this as the allotment was on Common land and as such the Council was prohibited from fencing off the site.

Another concern was the height of the Sycamore Trees and whether these would be reduced as they shaded the site. The Clerk replied that at some stage of the Council’s Common Management Plan these trees would be reviewed.

(ii) COPMAN’S WICK

It was requested that Plot 24 be left clear and not rented out so that access to the site could be made easier. It was also reported that the top pedestrian gate was coming off its hinge. The fencing at the bottom end of the site was reported as having a tree growing through it. Mrs Martin said this was being removed and new fencing putting in and that once the skip had been filled with the old fencing, the allotment holders could use the rest of the skip for allotment rubbish. After discussion about the fencing and availability of plots it was agreed that a site meeting would be held in the new year to look at the various problems raised at first hand.

(iii) THE SWILLETT

The standpipe nearest the gate was reported to be leaking and the overall appearance of the site was discussed and again, it was agreed that a site visit in the new year would be arranged.

07/05 COUNCIL’S WEBSITE

At last year’s meeting it had been mentioned that a new website was being developed. The Chairman confirmed that this was up and running. The website www.chorleywood-pc.gov.uk was put up on the Smartboard for the members of the Public to view.

Mrs Martin invited allotment holders to submit suitable articles that could be posted on the allotment section of the website.

07/06 CLOSURE

The meeting, having commenced at 7.00pm concluded at 8.00 pm.
