Chorleywood Common With 2 Dog Walkers

Chorleywood sits on the Hertfordshire-Buckinghamshire border, nestled within the Chilterns and surrounded by the parishes of Chenies, Sarratt, Rickmansworth, and Croxley Green.  It has a vibrant High Street and is home to Chorleywood Common, a Local Nature Reserve and County Heritage Site.

The parish is well-positioned on the outskirts of London, having its own train station served by both London Underground and the Chiltern Main Line, and in close proximity to two junctions of the M25 in addition to the M40 & M1 being close by. The variety of housing and quality of schools coupled with the beautiful features of the Common, fields and farmland, both within and surrounding the parish, make it a very desirable and sought-after place to live.

Chorleywood Parish Council is one of the larger local councils in Hertfordshire. It serves a mix of village, semi-urban and rural communities, comprising approximately 11,000 residents.

What do we do?

We look after Chorleywood Common, three allotment sites, the Lawn Cemetery and the Parish footpaths (on behalf of the County Council).  The Parish Council is also the sole trustee of the War Memorial Hall Trust, a registered charity, which owns the village halls.  We put on various events throughout the year and support local organisations through grant assistance and contribute to the running and organisation of local events. We are a statutory consultee on all planning applications in the Parish area.

This website is designed to provide information about Chorleywood, whether you live or work here, or are visiting. The website also covers the official side of the Council business, giving information on the structure of the Parish Council and how decisions are made, and who your Parish Councillors are and how they can be contacted.
