Can I look at a hall before booking?
Yes, please contact the Parish Council Office to arrange a mutually convenient time to view the hall.
Do I need an alcohol licence to sell/serve drinks?
Yes, we can arrange this for you at a cost of £30.00.
Can I use my own caterers?
Yes.
Is help available for setting up and dismantling the event?
Help with the setting up of tables and chairs can be provided at a charge of the appropriate hourly rate and must be pre-booked. Additional hire time for the setting up /taking down must be included in the booking whether this is to be provided by the council or performed by the hirer.
What time can I book the hall?
Our standard times are 9am – midnight. However, please note that if the event includes the playing of music, this must be turned off at midnight in the War Memorial Hall and Common Room and by 8pm for the Bullsland Hall. We can allow booking prior to 9am by Special Arrangement and hirers may remain in the War Memorial Hall/Common Room until 01.00am but this will be at double time hire charge.
What activities take place in the halls?
The list is endless, recent bookings include: wedding receptions, parties, lectures, various forms of dance and drama lessons, Film Club, keep fit classes, bowls club, jumble sales, music classes, RVS Luncheon club, and tuition classes.

Is there a garden available?
The Bullsland Hall has a small open space around the hall, and is a one minute walk from a park and playground.
The War Memorial Hall and Common Room are immediately opposite Chorleywood Common.
Can I smoke in the buildings?
No.
When can I hire the halls?
Every day except Christmas and Boxing Day subject to availability. Additional charges are made for bank holidays & New Years Eve.
How much does it cost to hire the halls?
Costs are dependent on the type of event and the time/day of the week. Please click here to find out the rate for your event.
What is the WIFI code?
The Wi Fi codes for each hall are displayed on the noticeboards.
What are the additional costs for equipment hire?
None, but a charge applies if you want the caretakers to set up the hall for you. If setting up the hall yourself, please ensure you book enough time before and after your event to do so.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
War Memorial Hall – minimum £225 for hall hire (subject to booking). Additional deposit of £50 for use of the sound system and a further £50 for use of the microphones.
Common Room and Bullsland Hall – deposit £200.
Is there disabled parking?
Yes, there is one space immediately in front of the War Memorial Hall. Two spaces are provided at the Bullsland Hall.
What equipment is provided in the kitchens?
War Memorial Hall – commercial fridge, half size freezer, commercial microwave, double oven & 8 ring commercial gas cooker, large warming cabinet, dishwasher, crockery & cutlery – 100 place settings, large commercial kettle, tea urn, cleaning equipment.
Common Room – kettle, fridge and sink.
Bullsland Hall – part use of fridge freezer, commercial cooker, crockery/cutlery, kettle, microwave and cleaning equipment.
Layout
Various combinations are possible eg conference, classroom, theatre etc – please discuss your requirements with our office.
Is parking available?
Parking is available in the permissive parking area opposite the War Memorial Hall and Common Room. Please note that a parking ticket is required to be displayed in your vehicle between 11am and 3pm, Monday to Friday. These are available free of charge between 11am and 3pm from the ticket machine in the parking area.
There is disabled parking for one car in front of the hall. The rest of the parking area has to be kept free for emergency vehicles.
At the Bullsland Hall there are 2 disabled spaces in front of the Hall and an additional 4 spaces on the drive with street parking usually available.
Do I need Insurance?
The Chorleywood Village Halls Trust holds public liability insurance for the premises, however, we recommend that you obtain insurance for your own event/activity.
Are there baby changing facilities?
Yes, baby changing facilities are available at each Hall.
Can I use the stage for free?
Yes, on request, but for health and safety reasons our caretaker will not be permitted to move the steps to the stage.
