Grants
One of the roles of Parish Councils is to improve the quality of life and the environment for their parishioners. This can be a direct service or by supporting others to facilitate these services.
Chorleywood Parish Council operates a grant scheme enabling community organisations or services whose aim is to support the majority of members having a bona fide address within the Parish or from individuals with a permanent address within the Parish to apply for funds for events, small projects and community activities. The total amount of funds available for community grants each year is decided by the Council in January when it sets its budget for the following financial year. In financial year 2023/4 a total of £5,000 has been allocated.
All grants are considered by Full Council and are funded on a first come first served basis.
For any further information please contact the Clerk who is responsible for the administering the grants process.

Grants Awarded
Chorleywood Signal Box
In 2021 a Community Grant of £3,500 was given to the Friends of Chorleywood Signal Box for work on the infrastructure of the building. This was subsequently returned to the Council as it proved difficult to secure the required consents for the works. The Parish Council subsequently awarded a further grant to enable the publication of a book explaining the history of the signal box and railway called “Chorleywood and Beyond”.
Other recipients of grants
These include Chorleywood Community Initiatives who received a grant in 2022 to help it put on the annual Christmas Festival held in the village.
