Planning Committee Meetings & Members
Chorleywood Parish Council, as one of the Parish Councils within Three Rivers District Council, is in the fortunate position of being involved in the planning consultation process, something that is not a countrywide situation. As a statutory consultee we have the right to make representation on planning applications affecting the Parish to Three Rivers District Council.
We do not have the power to approve or reject planning applications; however, we do have the right to propose that planning applications should be brought before the Planning Committee (as opposed to being dealt with by officers under delegated powers). The Parish Council looks forward to receiving comments from local residents whether they are in favour or against a particular application. More of you than ever are exerting your right to speak at the Planning Committee meetings, both for and against applications, to try to persuade Committee Members to support your view so do use your rights.
The Parish Council’s Planning Committee’s aims are to represent your views within the limits of planning law; to be consistent; and to be fair. Our objectives being to try whenever possible, to include affordable housing and ensure that this can grow but that each development maintains the ‘village’ atmosphere, in particular within the conservation areas.
Chair: Cllr J Bishop
Vice Chair: Cllr Z Hearn
Councillors: V Arumuhan, S Al-Damluji, P Howell, A Preedy, D Rosario and S Watkins
